Vidimus is published by Magnetar Group Limited (NZBN: 9429053576446), a New Zealand company (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

Data stored on your device only

Puzzle progress, solve times, preferences, and streak data are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage (mobile) or localStorage (web). This data never leaves your device unless you opt into cloud sync (see below).

Anonymous analytics

The web and mobile versions may collect anonymous usage events (puzzle started, puzzle completed, difficulty selected) to help us improve the game. These events contain no personal identifiers, IP addresses, or device fingerprints.

Cloud sync (optional, future feature)

If you choose to create an account to sync progress across devices, we will store your email address (or Apple ID token), puzzle completion records, and solve times. Account creation is entirely optional and the game is fully functional without it.

Purchase data

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt — not your name, email, or payment details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or phone number (unless you create an account)
• We do not use advertising SDKs or ad tracking
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties
• We do not use cookies for tracking purposes
• We do not collect location data

Children’s privacy

Vidimus is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game does not require an account, does not contain advertising, and stores all gameplay data locally on the device.

Data retention

Local data persists until you uninstall the app or clear app data. If you create an account, you can request deletion of your cloud data at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and applicable international privacy laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can manage it directly by clearing app data or uninstalling.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app or on this page with an updated date.
